Overview

The book provides instructions on building circuits on breadboards, connecting the Analog Discovery wires to the circuit under test, and making electrical measurements. Various measurement techniques are described and used in this book, including: impedance measurements, complex power measurements, frequency response measurements, power spectrum measurements, current versus voltage characteristic measurements of diodes, bipolar junction transistors, and Mosfets. The book includes end-of-chapter problems for additional exercises geared towards hands-on learning, experimentation, comparisons between measured results and those obtained from theoretical calculations.

The Analog Discovery book is a very excellent learning kit for the novice in analog circuits. This book is definitely an indispensable textbook and reference for this kit. -- Ming-Bo Lin, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taiwan An excellent introduction to the Analog Discovery board. An excellent combination of basic circuit theory and experimental lab exercises, with a good introductory theory for each experimental setup. The ideal companion to a theoretical textbook. Accessible for students at a very early stage in their studies. --Erik Bruun, Technical University of Denmark Circuits and Electronics: Hands-on Learning with Analog Discovery can be used in a one or two-semester Introductory circuit analysis or circuit theory course taught in Electrical or Computer Engineering Programs. It covers Analog Discovery. This hands-on-learning design approach gives students and professors the freedom and creativity to expand the scope of course materials and explore real-time design scenarios right in the classroom. In this way, the relationship between conceptual understanding and problem solving approaches is emphasized. The book then provides students with a strong foundation of engineering practices. -- Tertulien Ndjountche, P.ENG, Ottawa, Canada
