Yunling Zhang is International Politics Expert, Director of the Academic Division of International Studies of CASS, President of Chinese Association of Asia-Pacific Studies, and Director of the Center for Regional Security Studies, CASS. Binhong Shao is Senior Editor of the Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP), the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), and Secretary-General, China Society of World Economics. Since 1996, she has been Managing Editor-in-Chief of the International Economic Review, one of China’s core periodicals. She is familiar with the whole process of China’s reform and opening up, its economic take-off, and political development since its close economic and political integration with the global regime since the 1990s.
