Overview"We need new stories. The ancient traditions and narratives under which we still operate have run their course and are no longer useful. In fact, they are damaging our lives, our planet, and the non-human species that are going extinct under our watch. These stories, which create suffering, harm the earth, and endorse continued inequality, must be destroyed and replaced. In Change Our Stories, Change Our World, Karen Shragg examines and dismantles six of these old, harmful stories, and offers new stories which will lead us to a more sustainable place from which we can launch a better future. ""Shragg makes the important point that reason alone is not enough for us to change our ways; emotional engagement and a focus on the positive aspects that change would bring are also required."" -Madeline Weld, president of Population Institute of Canada ""Change Our Stories, Change Our World draws our attention to the crumbling cultural, political, and religious stories that have misguided and enslaved our societies and systems for way too long."" -Dubhaltagh O'Hearcain, documentary filmmaker" Full Product DetailsAuthor: Karen ShraggPublisher: Freethought House Imprint: Freethought House Dimensions: Width: 15.20cm , Height: 0.40cm , Length: 22.90cm Weight: 0.118kg ISBN: 9780988493872ISBN 10: 098849387 Pages: 80 Publication Date: 01 December 2020 Audience: General/trade , General Format: Paperback Publisher's Status: Active Availability: In stock We have confirmation that this item is in stock with the supplier.
