JAMMO Fr. Michael J. Bazzi is the pastor emeritus at St. Peter's Cathedral in El Cajon, California. Born in Tilkepe, Iraq, Bazzi was educated in Iraq and Rome. In 1971, Fr. Bazzi came to the United Staes and, after serving in Michigan and Wisconson, Fr. Bazzi moved to a parish and school in Los Angeles. In 1985, Fr. Bazzi began serving at St. Peter's Cathedral in San Diego, Califonria. Concurrently to serving as a pastor, Fr. Bazzi has also been an Aramaic Professor at Cuyamaca College since 1989. Fr. Bazzi has written more than ten books focusing on classical and modern Aramaic, Chaldean history, and the Bible. Fr. Bazzi is a native Aramaic speaker.
