OverviewDr Joseph L. NFI has achieved three things in this monograph. First, he has clearly traced the origins of those who came to be regarded as the Eleventh Province in Anglophone Cameroon. Second, he has demonstrated beyond question the role played by these aliens or settlers in the birth and evolution of the reunification idea and in the final decision made by Southern Cameroonians to vote for reunification at the 1961 UN-organised plebiscite. Finally he has shown that the Eleventh Province played a pivotal role in the development of the economy of Anglophone Cameroon and that some of them featured amongst the finest intellectuals, scientists, administrators, business tycoons and politicians of Anglophone Cameroon. This book is therefore highly recommended for policy makers, politicians, researchers and all those who are interested in the problems of minorities and identity crisis in Cameroon and Africa. V.G.
