Overview

The final volume in the popular series featuring homilies on the Gospel readings for Sunday and holy days by Catholic women from around the world. “Offers abundant witness to the fact that the Spirit of God continues to raise up surprising and gifted preachers whose faithful witness and prophetic speech offer the entire church both challenge and hope. . . The witness of faithful women who can testify from experience that they have found in the Gospel ‘words of spirit and life’ (Jn. 6:63) is essential to the mission of the entire church. May the bold proclamations of the Gospel in this volume prompt a wider hearing of the good news and lead contemporary disciples to ‘hear the word of God and act on it’ (Lk 11:28).”—From the Foreword by Catherine Hilkert OP

“A tremendous resource for the church.”—James Martin, SJ, author, Learning to Pray “This text will accompany Catholics in prayer and reflection. It will inspire preachers and hearers of God’s word. Most important, it will remind us all that women’s voices have been at the heart of the Christian message since Mary Magdalene first witnessed the empty tomb on Easter morning.” —Natalia Imperatori-Lee, author, Cúentame: Narrative in the Ecclesial Present “Catholic Women Preach meets a sacred yearning to have and hear the voices of women in the church through the unique perspective of their own preaching. . . . They each have something important to teach us, and it would behoove us to listen. Just as Mary sat at the feet of Jesus, captured by his words and teaching, we too should sit at the feet of these women teachers. This book gives me hope for the future of women in the church.”—National Catholic Reporter
