"David H. Barlow is an internationally recognized expert and leader in clinical psychology who has pioneered many treatments and investigations in anxiety and mood disorders. He is professor emeritus of psychology and psychiatry at Boston University as well as the founder and director emeritus of the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders, one of the largest research clinics of its kind in the world. Previously, Dr. Barlow was a distinguished professor at State University of New York at Albany. From 1975 to 1979, he was professor of psychiatry and psychology at Brown University, where he also founded the clinical psychology internship program. From 1969 to 1975, he was professor of psychiatry at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he founded the Medical School psychology residency program. Dr. Barlow is the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Psychological Association as well as the James McKeen Cattell Fellow Award from the Association for Psychological Science, which honors individuals for their lifetime of significant intellectual achievements in applied psychological research. An American Psychological Association Presidential Citation noted: He has had a far reaching impact on many psychologists of color and has shaped the future of the discipline in valuing and supporting the potential of all students."" Dr. Barlow received his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, his M.A. from Boston College and his Ph.D. from the University of Vermont."" Timothy A. Brown is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Boston University, and Director of Research at Boston University's Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders. He has published extensively in the areas of the classification of anxiety and mood disorders, vulnerability to emotional disorders, psychometrics, and methodological advances in social sciences research. In addition to conducting his own grant-supported research, Dr. Brown serves as a statistical investigator or consultant on numerous federally funded research projects. He has been on the editorial boards of several scientific journals, including a longstanding appointment as Associate Editor to the Journal of Abnormal Psychology."
