OverviewA leading figure in the Italian and international design universe, Carlo Colombo is one of Italy's best known and prolific designers, with a recognisable touch. The author of iconic pieces such as the Minerva chairs or the Bali armchairs, the award-winning Albume washbasins or the Sveva sofa, Carlo Colombo was born in 1967 in Brianza, the land of the greatest Italian furniture companies and home to several key figures of contemporary design. Having graduated with a degree in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano in 1993, his teachers included the great master Achille Castiglioni (1918-2002). His career is still continuing with great intensity and without ever slowing down, constantly sprinkled with successes and new challenges. Carlo Colombo has always carried out personal design research inspired and influenced by very disparate areas, from art to cars. This book recounts the multifaceted universe of a designer poised between passion and rationality. It draws on a selection of his most significant design products, his methodology, creative inputs and collaborations with protagonists from the business and finance worlds, as well as enlightened clients and artists.
