ALICE SCHERTLE is an award-winning poet whose books for children include Little Blue Truck and Very Hairy Bear. She lives in Plainfield, Massachusetts. PETRA MATHERS has illustrated numerous poetry and picture books for children including books by Jack Prelutsky and Rosemary Wells. She lives in Astoria, Oregon.
