Joy Longo, PhD, MS, RNC-NIC, is an assistant professor at the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. Her doctoral dissertation was a study of factors that affect nurses’' job satisfaction and intent to leave. Her extensive experience in clinical settings, primarily neonatal intensive care units, led to her research interest in healthy work environments, safety cultures, and the relationships in those environments.
