He has directed activities in telecommunications (network design, planning, management, and performance analysis), product development (telecommunications product planning and design as applied to packet switching, broadband switching frame relay, and ISDN), and diverse areas of distributed processing, computer architectures, protocol architectures, database management systems, knowledge-based systems, and systems engineering. Dhas has written a number of technical papers in the fields of distributed systems, computer architectures, modeling, communications networks, and protocol architectures. He has offered seminars on ISDN, X.25, network design and analysis, and broadband switching. He is also active in the IEEE Communications Society, providing technical editorial services to IEEE Communications magazine and the Journal of Selected Areas in Communication. Dhas received his PhD from Iowa State University. Vijaya K. Konangi is an associate professor of electrical engineering at Cleveland State University. His research interests include computer communications networks, local area networks, and distributed systems. Konangi received his BE and MSc from the University of Madras, India, and his PhD from Iowa State University. He is a member of ACM and IEEE. M. Streetharan is a principal in Computer Networks & Software, Inc., where he designs and develops data communications networks. His areas of interest are interconnection networks, high-performance communications systems, and architectures for fault tolerance and parallel processing. He has worked at Dowty Electronics (UK), where he developed full-authority digital controllers for industrial gas turbines, and at Solar Turbines, Inc., San Diego, where he continued his controls and signal processing work. Streetharan was born in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, and received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with first-class honors from the University of Sri Lanka, Peradeniya campus, in 1974. He attended the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology and Brunel University, UK, receiving his MS (in digital electronics) and PhD in 1979 and 1982. Streetharan is a member of ACM and IEEE, and is a Chartered Engineer (IEE, UK). Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
