Overview

"This publication has been brought about to illustrate expressions of more in depth cultural reflections of the Black experience through song and critical historical reflections. It attempts to further bring to surface relative information through pictorial reflections about the Black Experience not typically emphasized through the general public education system from a western point of focus. An even further attempt will be pursued to bring this forward through the convictions, interpretations and realities of cultural historian, activist and humanitarian Minster Vinson Ballard. Please be advised that none of the pictorial reflections are expressing any association with the attached words and meaning of the song of mention, but they have been included only to reflect certain pictorial reflections of culture only. Sometimes, I further wonder about hearing that my grandfather was a photographer and that many people in my family before me are believed to have expressed some interest in culture regardless to their daily challenges in life. In that regard, I thought it fitting to make this attempt to share these pictorial reflections attached to the meaning of this very creative song that I have been convicted to write with the hope that it will somehow inspire, bring a kind of healing, encouragement and further encourage some degree of a more favorable view of culture where ever necessary and possible. In a very humbling time when so much modern challenges are very visible in some of our everyday lives, I thought it fitting to attempt to take all who would dare travel with me on this pictorial cultural journey on a kind of cultural musical ecstasy to the motherland from a literary perspective. The pictures provided have been attempted to be taken from various impressionable efforts. However, I thought it necessary to provide more detailed reflections of some aspect of what the cultural meanings could possible illustrate. Additionally, an original poem has been proactively provided to assist the reader with the origin of the name of the song as well as the song in entirety for your convenience. The pronunciations of the words to the song have been attempted from an English transliteration perspective. The words may be pronounced as follows: ""Ruma"" as with ""rum"" the drink and the expression ""ah."" ""Bumah"" may also be derived from the expression or phrase of an individual being a ""bum"" and likewise using the expression ""ah"" to produce the collaborative coined phrase of ""Bumah."" Therefore, the title of the song as well as this literary work is Ruma Bumah Bumah."
