His research explores the combination of renewable energy and entrepreneurship to develop business models and opportunities in rural areas of developing countries. He received his PhD from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, in 1996, and is the author of the book Ökonometrische Methoden und maschinelle Lernverfahren zur Wechselkursprognose.Emanuel Herrmann is a Research Assistant at the University of Applied Sciences Neu-Ulm, Germany. His research focuses on transportation in city logistics and crowd logistics in order to develop new models and concepts to reduce the cost of last mile logistics.
