OverviewWritten primarily for new Christians, this discipleship-oriented book is designed to help people lay a biblical foundation in six weeks. In Psalms 11:3, David wrote, ""If the foundations are destroyed, what will the righteous do?"" A solid, biblical foundation is key to long-term spiritual success. With this goal in mind, this book is uniquely formatted to encourage the reader to interact with the Bible, spend time with God daily, meet with a mentor or small group, and explore topics that are vital to cultivating a biblical worldview. Each chapter provides the basics of Christianity, the practical steps in applying and living biblical truth, and the rich devotional components to invite readers to muse deeply and seek intimacy with the Lord and the transformative power of his presence. I recommend Breaking Ground for new believers and believers grown weary. --R. Heath Robertson, Spiritual Support Director & Bible Department Head at Enlightium Academy B. J. has a pastor's heart. This shows in the way he approaches the matter of discipleship. He presents the foundations of the faith in a simplistic way that sets a new believer on course toward the true transformation that eludes most saints. Discipleship can only be done in the context of relationship. He clearly shows it to be more than the mere learning of doctrines. Ultimately it is the reincarnation of Christ. --Dan Finley, Pastoral Counselor, Resurrection Life Church, Picayune, Mississippi Breaking Ground is a thoughtful pastoral guide to a fruitful Christian life.
