Overview

'This is a dark hour. The body count is rising and our enemies are watching our every move. But I feel elated. I know what I need to do.' Part soldier, part spy. Lucas Gedge is the sort of agent the world's governments don't even know they need yet. London, 1890. Gedge returns from the far reaches of the Empire, intent on settling down to a quiet life and getting to know the daughter he has hardly seen. But when an old foe reappears, he is drawn into a world of abduction and murder. With his daughter in deadly danger, he must use his special skills to save her and bring the criminals to justice. Blood Tribute is the first in a series of historical thrillers. If you like fast-paced action, with beguiling characters, in rich, multilayered settings, then you'll love Andy Emery's dark vision of one man's war against corruption and crime. Author Information

I love writing. And not only the actual writing, but also the research and planning that precedes it, the interaction with editors, book cover designers and other professionals, and even the process of publication and marketing. And yet it's taken me until the age of fifty to write and publish my first novel. I spent my early years writing stories and drawing pictures, but I never saw the possibility of a career as a creative. I studied geology at university, then spent a dozen years in the oil industry, but it was never really a good fit. And it's taken me a good while longer to realise what I was actually meant to do. I'm currently in full-time employment, so writing is what I spend most of my free time doing, but I also enjoy reading (surprise, surprise) and avoiding the decorating in favour of gardening. Well, I enjoy the plants more than the actual gardening.
