Jan also has a gift for simile, e.g., ""I suddenly feel that I could scurry as fast / as a silvery sand crab."" Jan has published 396 poems in the U.S. (Nimrod, Slipstream)and internationally (Orbis, UK, Cordite, Australia). Finishing Line Press has published her three chapbooks and first full-length poetry collection: I Wanted To Dance With My Father. She has been nominated twice for the Pushcart and twice for The Best of the Net.
