Overview

Will Moore and Jared Cook have little in common, except they're both 7th graders at Washington Middle School. Will is the new kid who hopes to overcome his size and make his name known in sports. Jared is the quiet kid that nobody notices and who longs for a friend. When basketball brings the unlikely pair together, neither will fully understand the consequences. There is a sinister plot in their school and the boys unwittingly find themselves right in the middle of it. Gregory Saur is fast establishing himself as an exciting author for young readers. Previous novels include Royal Pains & Angels in the Outhouse, Diving Catch, Soccer Star, and The Pond Scum Gang, which was shortlisted for the Gertrude Warner Book Award for Middle Grade Readers in 2017. After failing to get a basketball scholarship or NBA contract, he has devoted his life to writing. He also is known as a brick-maker, especially when on the court.
