Overview

Thayne has taken over as sheriff from his dad of his hometown, and though he doesn't regret the decision he made to return and help his family, he can admit to himself that he misses being a SEAL and wonders what his former teammates are doing. When Riley is given the chance to return to her job as an FBI agent, he doesn't want to hold her back, but also worries her doing so will result in him losing her forever. Riley needs the outlet her position provides, the chance to help those in danger as no one else can due to her uncanny ability to see what others can't, and to essentially let that go to waste in a town that doesn't require the skill seems wrong. But she loves Thayne and wants to be with him. When Riley receives a call from a stranger, she has no idea how they got her number nor what they need from her. As Thayne ad Riley begin working together to solve a tragic case that has crossed their lives professionally, they begin to realize the answers they seek may be right in front of them, unfortunately the person who has them is slowly losing not only herself but any memories she might have. Can Thayne and Riley find justice for the family who only wanted to be left alone to live free of danger? What about the member that was left behind to mourn what once was? As for Riley's sister, Madison, how is she coping with adjusting to life outside the walls that had kept her hostage for so long? Will she ever find happiness? Or does she believe what happened will prevent that? Will Thayne and Riley fight for the future they can have? Or will one of them have to compromise in order to get their HEA?
