Overview

This series of creative non-fiction children's books is basically a travelogue for the young inquisitive reader. The book allows the children to travel with Bedbug on his adventurous journey. The objective is to introduce children to periods in the history of mankind such as Medieval, Neanderthal and pre-Druid times and to introduce some lesser publicized, but historically significant, world geographic sites. The vocabulary and sentence structure are designed for the early reader. The book will introduce certain key words that appear in red on the page and are included in a glossary at the back of the book. The children are encouraged to comment about the book on my website, www.bedbugsbigadventure.com and send pictures of how they imagine being part of that world. With their parent's permission, I will post their pictures on the website, and they will be sent a memento from me in appreciation.

Author Information

Ruth Welburn is the mother of three sons and the grandmother of four grandsons and two granddaughters. She lives in beautiful Sidney-By-the-Sea in British Columbia, Canada. In the summer of 2012, she traveled to Europe and visited some of the region's ancient haunts where she took the photos that appear in her books. With a Master of Science degree, Ruth spent most of her life as an educator and writer of adult literature. This is her first children's book, and as ever, she seeks to open up the world of new experiences to her new audience.
