I have used BAMS since its first edition--then because it was the one selected by the course leader and one of the few available. After my first BAMS workshop I began to better understand the philosophy behind the text--a philosophy that I believe in and practice. But, more importantly, it is student and instructor friendly--filled with ideas and opportunities to practice what we teach (or should I say preach). My retired husband was scanning the text on a plane one day while we were traveling and marveled at the content and scope of the issues covered. After his review, he then said to me, can I get a copy? A former student liked the text so much that she planned to share it with her high school daughter and her daughter's friends because she thought it would help them improve their academic performance.
