Overview"The topic of ocean pollution and the impact our modern lifestyles have on the environment is nothing new. What Be Ocean brings to the table is a deepened respect for the ocean and the connection we humans share with this vast and vital ecosystem. In recent years, author Joe Pregadio, a lifelong Florida surfer, has experienced a powerful awakening. Now he is sharing his journey so that more people will join him in recognizing how destructive our culture of consumerism is-and how taking action, which can be as simple as beach cleaning, can help preserve marine life. Speaking to surfers who might falsely assume that their lifestyle is ""free,"" along with other ocean enthusiasts, environmentalists, and those seeking personal growth through inner reflection and deeper connection, Be Ocean encourages each of us to take personal responsibility for the health of our planet. Most importantly, this book proposes a federal bill to raise funds for ocean advocacy projects."
