Author Information

Mark Newman's work has appeared in worldwide publications for forty years. It has been featured on the covers of such magazines as Audubon, National Wildlife, and Smithsonian. Additional photo credits include National Geographic and Reader's Digest books, Newsweek, Oxford Scientific Films, Natural History Magazine, the National Park Service, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, and numerous calendars and advertisements. He has published ten previous books. His book about polar bears won the Bankstreet College of Education 2012 Best Book of the Year Award as well as receiving commendations from the National Science Teacher's Association, National Council of Teachers of English, and the School Library Journal. Mark currently divides his time between Alaska, the Yukon, and the Southwestern United States. He can be reached at mn.golden.alaska@gmail.com or on Facebook where he posts new wildlife images daily.
