Author Information

Manjiao Chi is professor and founding director of Center for International Economic Law and Policy (CIELP), Law School of the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), Beijing. His recent reaserch focuses on international economic govenance, dispute settlement, responsible business conducts, and global cooperation. Author of numerous books and articles, consultant of various international organizations, recipient of multiple research grants, and visiting professor of many leading law schools and institutions around the world. Deputy Chair, UNCITRAL Academic Forum on ISDS, Co-Chair, ASIL  Asian-Pacific Law Interest Group, and Standing Council Member, Chinese Society of International Law. He also has rich experience of international dispute settlement and treaty negotiatons.  Marc Bungenberg is Director of the Europa-Institut and a professor of public law, European law and public international lawat Saarland University in Germany (since 2015), visiting professor at the University of Lausanne/Switzerland (since 2011). He has taught at inter alia Sydney, Geneva, Lucerne, Lausanne, Taschkent, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Munich. He is the recipient of multiple research grants. He received his doctorate in law from the University of Hannover and wrote his habilitation treatise at the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena. He holds an LL.M. from Lausanne University. His main fields of research are European (Common Commercial Policy, public procurement and state aid law) and international economic law, particularly international investment and WTO law. Andrea K. Bjorklund is the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, as well as a Full Professor and the L. Yves Fortier Chair in International Arbitration and International Commercial Law, at McGill University Faculty of Law.  She acts as arbitrator and expert in both investment and commercial arbitrations and as an expert in court proceedings related to arbitration.  She is on the panel of arbitrators of the Beijing Arbitration Commission/Beijing International Arbitration Center, the International Commercial Arbitration Court of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, and Industry, and AAA’s International Centre for Dispute Resolution.  She is also a U.S. appointee to the NAFTA Chapter 19 (and USMCA Chapter 10) roster of arbitrators.  Professor Bjorklund has a J.D. from Yale Law School, an M.A. in French Studies from New York University, and a B.A. (with High Honors) in History and French from the University of Nebraska.
