It is true that in the study of Political Science, International Relations, Public Administration, and other related discipline Arthashastra is yet to receive due recognition in India and abroad. In this context, the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS) Shimla had hosted a two-day National Seminar on 'Reflections on the Relevance of Arthashastra in the 21st Century' This volume is the collection of selected papers presented at the national seminar. The relevance of Arthashastra in the contemporary world has been well explored in the seventeen articles categorized in three sections. The first part deals with the relevance of Arthashastra in the present century. The second section of the book deals with foreign and security policy, strategic culture as portrayed in Arthashastra. Dr Suresh R. is Professor & Chairman, Department of Political Science, University of Kerala, Kariavattom Campus, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He took M Phil degree in Political Science from University of Bombay, Mumbai and Ph D in International Studies from School of International Studies, Pondicherry Central University, Pondicherry, with UGC Junior Research Fellowship. He had published six books; Foreign Policy and Human Rights: An Indian Perspective (2009), Peace in the Indian Ocean: A South Asian Perspective (2011), Right to Information and Good Governance (2013), Maritime Security of India: The Coastal Security Challenges and Policy Options (2014) The Changing Dimensions of Security and Indian's Security Policy Options (2015) India's National Security: A Maritime Security Perspective (2020) and contributed chapters to many books.
