Along his travels, he meets several of the state's animals and insects. He even gets to ride in a racecar and attend a horseshow. The names of the animals that Anthony meets are in an alliterative form such as Herman Horse. There is a parade at the end of the book and includes a glossary.

Patricia loves to travel and enjoys reading.Lauren Whitacre Schwartz was born and raised in Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg, Texas, with a B.
