OverviewThere are rapidly increasing number of drug groups (and increasing numbers of drugs within each group) available to treat several fungal infections. Day to day numbers of newer antifungal formulations either in single or in combined dosage forms are marketed as well as are under investigation. Reported analytical methods for some drugs are available in literatures but not stability indicating and some of them are time consuming. Many methods found for HPLC and LC-MS were only applicable to biological sample. The objective of this work was to develop an analytical LC procedure, which would serve as stability indicating assay method for drug product as well as HPTLC procedure for drug product which can detect degraded impurities present in raw material and formulation. So, the present investigation was undertaken with a view to develop and validate analytical method which should be applied for the further analysis of antifungal agents in powder and formulation.
