Reviews

''Minnesotans are brought up to be self-effacing and sheepish and hangdog about our state--it's the curse of Lutheranism--and finally Lee Lynch has broken through this plywood ceiling and come right out and shown how terrific we are. This is a far, far better book than I could have written.'' -- Garrison Keillor, graduate of Anoka High School Cover blurb ''This book capsulizes why I'm proud to call Minnesota home.'' -- Alan Page, retired justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court and Hall of Fame Minnesota Viking Cover Blurb ''Must reading for every CEO recruiting to Minnesota. Eminently readable and delightful.'' -- Arne H. Carlson, former governor of Minnesota Cover Blurb ''Shame on you, Lee, for letting our secret out of the bag. After reading this book everyone will want to live in Minnesota. We may need to build a wall around it.'' -- Marilyn Carlson Nelson, former chair and CEO, Carlson, and vice chair, Carlson Family Foundation Cover blurb ''Lee Lynch is through and through our Mr. Minnesota. His unabashed love for his state makes him its foremost reporter and most artful advocate.'' -- Samuel L. Kaplan, former U.S. ambassador to Morocco, and Sylvia Kaplan, civic activist Cover blurb

Author Information

In 1962 Lee Lynch and Jack Carmichael founded Carmichael Lynch Advertising, which rose to become, according to the international journal Graphis, one of the top ten most creative agencies in the world. Lee retired from CL in 2008 and immersed himself in other businesses and nonprofit activities. He was a key player in the renaissance of the historic Hennepin Avenue Theater District in downtown Minneapolis. A civic activist, Lee founded or cofounded four organizations and was chairman of the board for nine others, both for profit and nonprofit. Lee lives on Cedar Lake in Minneapolis with his wife, Dr. Terry Saario.
