James, Katie and Sarah love to visit their Aunt Em and Uncle Mike's house and play in the old apple tree. Sarah is a lifelong teacher and learner, living and learning with her family in Connecticut. Writing about her childhood growing up alongside a brother who was born with cerebral palsy helped to form a connection to him after his death as a young adult and introduce her children to their uncle posthumously.
