5.0 out of 5 stars Thank You For Sharing Such Valuable Information! I didn't know what to expect but I was pleased with the size of the book. It is a much needed guide for anyone returning from military service. Some of the items in the book I didn't even think of but realized that these are things that need to be done. And I now have a resource to assist me. And it is small enough to keep handy for any situation. 5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Guide Book on transitioning to post- military life This handy guidelet breaks down the steps to take when your military service comes to an end in simple and easy to understand ways. As someone who has many military family members this book not only makes the perfect gift but will help them during this important life-changing time. There are many different pieces of advice in this book such as living arrangements, finances, employment, and many other things necessary to a post-military life. This book isn't extremely long so it is great even for people who don't like to read much but are looking to learn lots of new tips for after the military and more. Check out this book, you won't regret it!! 5.0 out of 5 stars This is an excellent guide for people transitioning out of service in our military forces. Use this plan, contact your service agencies, follow their advice, but always personally and independently manage and oversee your life's direction. We all have to learn how to advocate for ourselves and help ourselves when it comes to all things. This book is pointed to veterans who understand that freedom is not free and more directly applies that to success is not free . What a great message for us all. Any person transitioning from one state of life or being to another will face such topics as these. This is especially true for those veterans who are just reentering civilian life. If anyone in your family has recently begun transitioning into civilian life, this is a helpful tool to have in their pocket (or on their device). That is a crucial time for a new framework in order to be successful in life. Along with incredibly useful advice, you will find things like this: The Creative Spirit is the most untapped source of energy in the universe . Getting information off the Internet is like taking a drink from a fire hydrant , Mitchell Kapor. That one cracked me up. They include how to get your documents, write a resume (with an example), find the use of a computer, understand the requirements of certain institutions, set short and long-term goals, socialization and health, and many more topics. They talk about going back to the family home, if that is part of your transition, and how to cope with that and move beyond it. There's a lot of work to do apparently, so I really like this particular piece of advice Focus on and reinforce all positive activities . That gives you more energy to do the things you need to do and more enjoyment along the way. They mention how it is wise to learn from the mistakes of others. I agree with that statement. And finally, HOPE, Which stands for Holding onto Positive Energy. It's an excellent guide.
