Reviews

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wonderful. Great for kids and their Grandpa too The illustrations are great and make a lot of these ideas easy for my grandkids to understand. The writing is very gentle but doesn't talk down to the kids. It treats them like the adventurers they want to be. Quite happy with this book. The kids want to camp in my backyard this weekend. Now if I could just find that tent... - Stephen Joseph (United States) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Guide for Kids In a generation where most kids are on technology more than they are outside, this guide is perfect for teaching them outdoor adventure ideas and how to do them safely. From shelter building to survival skills, it covers all you need to know to be an expert in the wilderness. It has creative pictures, step-by-step instructions, and so much more that makes it not only educational, but fun as well! I would highly recommend it, especially as a gift idea. - Gina C. (United States) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Little Book for Would Be Adventurers Some good ideas here for mini adventures and mini adventurers here. Never has it be so important to get your kids outdoors and away from tech and learn about nature and how to survive, at least for a night, outdoors. As well as camping and fire lighting there are outdoor games for the not so adventurous. I really thought the section on fire lighting was brilliant. So many different ways! This book could not stress the importance of having adult supervision and safety all the time. Take your kids out there or rather let them take you! A great bonding experience not to be missed and brilliant gift idea - Shazzie (United Kingdom)

Author Information

Ferne Bowe is a parent, marketing professional, and author of Life Skills for Young Adults & Life Skills for Tweens. With two kids of her own, she has first-hand experience with the challenges and triumphs of raising a teen. While watching her kids growing up, she noticed the gap between the skills kids need to thrive in the real world and what they are taught in school. For example, she noted that while kids are often taught how to get good grades, they are rarely taught how to manage their finances or have difficult conversations. She is on a mission to close that gap and help kids, and young adults find their purpose, develop self-awareness and confidence, and build their skills to create a life they love. Her message is simple: Mastering life skills and taking ownership of day-to-day tasks is the key to success, no matter your goals. Adopting this principle helps tweens, teens, and young adults develop the skills they need to live a successful life.Ferne loves traveling, spending time with her family and friends, reading, and running. She also enjoys watching movies, listening to music, and singing (badly). When she's not in front of a PC, you'll usually find her outside enjoying the countryside.
