Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationShanmuga Sundar Dhanabalan is an accomplished researcher with a proven track record in designing, developing, and translating micro- and nano-scale devices. He is currently leading the ‘Wearable and Connected Sensors’ team as a theme leader at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia, focusing on materials, sensors, flexible and stretchable devices, wearables, optics, and photonics. He is a recipient of the highly competitive and prestigious ARC Industry Fellowship. He is the chief investigator of three active research grants related to wearable and flexible electronics. In the last three years, his work has generated more than $4.1M through industry and university collaborations and secure funding from CRC-P and ARC. He has secured a competitive grant, the ‘CONICYT Postdoctoral Fellowship,’ from the Chilean government (Ranked 4 out of 250 applicants), with a total cost of 81 million Chilean Pesos (CLP) for three years as a Principal Investigator from 2018 – 2021. He has experience working at international laboratories and research centres in India, Chile, and Australia. He has delivered more than 20 invited talks and keynote presentations at various international conferences. He serves as a topical guest editor for IEEE, Elsevier, and Springer journals. He has published 42 journal articles, 8 books, 10 book chapters, 18 conference presentations, and holds 2 Australian and 1 Indian patent. He is a member of professional societies such as Senior Member - IEEE, IEEE Photonics Society, Royal Society of Victoria, and ARC Research Hub for Connected Sensors for Health. In addition, he served as a session chair and technical committee member in various international conferences. Arun Thirumurugan is an assistant professor at the University of Atacama, Sede Vallenar, Vallenar, Chile. He completed his PhD at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Tiruchirappalli, India. He has worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Physics, India, and University of Chile, Santiago, Chile. His research interests include the synthesis and surface modification of nanomaterials for energy and environmental applications. He has reviewed over 180 articles for various publishers and has served in editorial roles for several journals, including the Journal of Energy Chemistry, International Journal of Energy Research, Journal of Nanomaterials, Social Impacts, Discover Chemical Engineering, Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, Optical and Quantum Electronics, and Micromachines. He has more than 120 publications in his credit and edited many books for Springer, Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, and IOP Publishing. T. Sridarshini is currently working as Assistant Professor in Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, College of Engineering, Anna University, Chennai, India. She has completed her doctoral degree in the field of Photonics which mainly focuses on “Photonic crystals for passive optical components for optical communication systems”, from Anna University, Chennai.
