OverviewAcanthusThis journal features the remastered artwork of William Morris' Acanthus. William Morris was perhaps the most celebrated designer of the Arts & Crafts Movement. Designed during the 1800s, Morris' woodblock-printed wallpaper designs were revolutionary for their time, and can still be found all over the world, printed for furniture upholstery, curtains, ceramics, and even fashion accessories (The Modern Met). According to the Victoria and Albert Museum, 'Acanthus' is a large-scale repeating pattern which would appear to be most appropriate for large rooms. However Morris believed that a large pattern actually worked well in a small room. He explained that if it was well designed, a large pattern was more restful to look at than a small one.
