Want to know a secret? There’s more to college than studying and going to class! A Student’s Guide to College Transitions highlights the myriad opportunities that are available to you outside the classroom and why it’s in your best interest to get out there and participate in them. The guide helps you understand how cultivating new experiences and developing diverse skill sets can not only enrich your overall college experience, but make you a more attractive candidate for future academic programs and employment opportunities. Author Information

Dr. April Herring has worked and taught at public, private, and community colleges in her 25 year career in higher education. She has lived in residence halls with students, taught students in the classroom, served as an academic advisor, planned orientation, advised student clubs, and done many other things with and for college students. It was through these activities that she figured out who she is and what she wanted to do with her life. In her 25 years of experience in higher education she continues to see students grow and learn outside of the class in ways that are profound and meaningful.
