Author Information

Marty Gervais is the author of more than 20 books of poetry, fiction, non-fiction and drama. In 1998 he won the prestigious Harbourfront Festival Prize for his contribution to Canadian literature. In 1997, he won the Milton Acorn People's Poetry Award for his collection Tearing Into A Summer Day. Gervais has worked for a number of newspapers. For 17 years, he was The Windsor Star's book editor. Currently he writes the thrice-weekly My Town column. He is also the University of Windsor's resident writing porfessional, where he offers creative writing workshops to the public. In addition to his own writing, Marty Gervais is the publisher of Black Moss Press, one of Canada's oldest independent publishing houses.
