He is the author of ten published books, more than thirty published short stories, an award-winning play, and newspaper and magazine articles. Barr's short story ""Puzzle Pieces"" received the 2021 Hal Prize for short stories. His short story ""Forgiveness"" was a finalist in Narrative's 2020 Winter Short Story Contest."
