She grew up in India, in a family obsessed with food and feeding people. At 21, Bodanapu moved to the United States to earn her MA at University of Southern California, after which she spent her early career working in business development at companies like Facebook and Fair Trade USA. She has since focused on food and culture and is now a certified nutritionist from the Bauman College. Vaishnavi lives in San Francisco, California with her family, where she spends her spare time menu planning and finding ways to Indianize all her favorite cuisines.
