With deep roots in public health, Arthur and Nancy Culbert have been planting seeds for healthier communities for over fifty years. Their joint efforts have helped to yield a variety of healthy initiatives, such as the Early Medical School Selection Program (EMSSP), Schools of Public Health Application Services (SOPHAS), Health Literacy Missouri, STL Village, and the Central West End Farm. Their farm grew from their mission to feed the hungry and address Human Right Article #25 by providing healthy produce to guests of neighborhood food pantries. After a number of other mission-driven gift gardens sprouted, Arthur and Nancy felt compelled to share their story, believing it will continue to inspire others.
