Hurley, DMin, PhD, is a retired Army Colonel with 33 years military service in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve with service beginning with the rank of Private during the Vietnam era and retiring with the rank of Colonel three decades later.His military awards include the Army Meritorious Service medal (awarded 3 times), the Bronze Star medal, and the Legion of Merit and the Army Air Assault badge. He was selected and trained as an EMDR trainer by Francine Shapiro, PhD. As a licensed psychotherapist since 1980 he is trained in the major orientations of psychotherapy. He is a Diplomate with the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, an Approved Supervisor with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and an Approved Consultant and Trainer with the EMDR International Association (EMDIA) and the EMDR Institute, as well as a member of the American Psychological Association and the Psychological Society of Ireland. Dr. Hurley holds graduate degrees in pastoral counseling, counseling psychology and clinical psychology with the Doctor of Ministry in pastoral counseling and PhD in clinical psychology. E. C. is the Executive Director of EMDR-Tennessee and the Founder of Soldier Center. He provides EMDR basic trainings at Soldier Center and various other locations.
