OverviewExcerpt from A Catalogue of the Books and Pamphlets in the Library: Arranged According to Subjects and Authors The nucleus of the Manchester Museum Library was formed by a collection of books belonging to the Man chester Natural History Society, which was transferred to the Council of the Owens College together with the collections. This was considerably increased by means of a donation of 500 from the legatees of the late Sir Joseph Whitworth, and further additions have been received from numerous friends and benefactors, as well as from various learned societies, whose names will be found in the lists of donors published from time to time in the Museum Reports. A number of additions have also been made every year from the funds of the Museum. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
