He has written a previous Anthology of verse entitled Assorted musings. He retired two years ago having previously worked in the civil service, NHS as a trained Psychiatric nurse and latterly as a home carer in social care. He enjoys being with family, including his grandchildren. His hobbies include walking, cooking, ornithology, choir singing and being a regular congregant at his local church. He also enjoys going to musical gigs with a preference for folk music. He also did voluntary work as a narrator for Talking newspapers. In previous years, he funds raised for charities including the Anthony Nolan Trust, RNLI and the Samaritans for whom he was a volunteer in the 1970s.
