Overview

Few men have more titles conferred on them than preachers; these, depending on the church, include, Brother, Minister, Pastor, Reverend, Doctor, Priest, Bishop, Clergyman, etc. There is a continuing debate over which title is correct, etc. And rarely is a preacher called by his given name, Bill, Charlie, Sam, John, etc. When it comes to names and titles the preacher is just one of the boys. On the other hand, however, when it comes to his status as the hired preacher, there is a different set of opinions, expectations, and unique set of contracted requirements expected of the qualified man who has been given temporary custody of the pulpit. However, when we take times, if we ever do, to compare what the Bible reveals about the position and work of a preacher with what congregations are expecting, there is a vast gap. In this 16 chapter book, after 52 years of preaching and training preachers, the author refers to them as myths --not in the Bible.
