Eight-time World Boxing and Kickboxing Champion Troy Dorsey is telling all in his new autobiography. At the beginning of his career, Dorsey was a successful amateur fighter, until he turned professional and won multiple World Kickboxing titles with the K.I.C.K., ISKA and WAKO. A distinguished martial artist as well, he was the first fighter in history to win world titles in both karate and boxing. Dorsey s career included many highlights. At the U.S. Featherweight Championship, he knocked out the famous Santae Wilson in a one-sided match. Another time, he faced a top-ranked challenger, Steve Demechuck, and owned him, dropping him six times before knocking him out. Overall, Dorsey is considered by many in the kickboxing world to be one of the best full contact fighters, and a great trainer. In 1985, Dorsey turned to professional boxing. In this sport, he won the NABF Featherweight Title, IBO Super Featherweight Title and the IBF Featherweight World Championship, and was generally considered to be one of the era s most exciting fighters. Perhaps his most famous rival was Jorge Paez, who he fought twice. One of them was a highly controversial decision won by Paez in Dorsey s first try at a title. Dorsey also faced other notable fighters like Gabriel Ruelas, Manuel Medina, Kevin Kelley, Jesse James Leija and Tom Jonhson, as well as Olympian and future five-time World Champion Oscar De la Hoya. Dorsey s book includes contributions from world champions Gene Mad Dog Hatcher, Jesse James Leija, Stevie Cruz, Guy Mezger, and Paulie Ayala, as well as Hollywood Super Star Bob Wall, among others.
