"Professor Brad Nicolarsen started training in 1998 at Brother Hood Boxing in Denver Colorado. After a year of boxing, he found Muay Thai Kickboxing under the instruction of Oscar Martinez and Duane Ludwig from 1999 to 2000. While training Muay Thai Brad met Dave Ruiz who is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under Rigan Machado. In 2001 Brad started his journey in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and hasn't left the sport since. During this time period Brad had the opportunity to train with phenomenal athletes and instructors such as Dave Ruiz, Amal Easton, Juliano Prado, Roberto ""Gordo"" Correa, Mario ""Busy "" Correa, and a list of other amazing instructors. Brad was able to train in places all over the world one of these being Brazil. While training in Brazil Brad trained at the famous Gracie Barra gym in Barra da Tijuca in Rio de Janeiro. His training and traveling partner for the last decade is now one of his business partners Ty Hudspeth. Together they have been able to create new friends and training partners all over the world during this journey. Now Brad focuses on stand-up, BJJ, take-downs, and conditioning through out the week to become a more well rounded fighter to learn and share my knowledge with all my students. Currently Professor Brad Nicolarsen is a black belt under Professor Jorge Oliveira who has taken him under his wing and shares his knowledge with Brad. As one of the owners at the Kompound Training Center in Denver, Colorado, Brad continues his journey with Jorge Oliveira, Tyrone Glover, Josh Ford, Mike Nickels, Mike Orr and other high level athletes in the Denver area.
